Love, true love, Christian love, agape love, perfect love is essential, mandatory in the Christian life.
* Perfect love cannot coexist with anger, suspicion, jealously, envy, pride.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,
5 doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;
6 doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
* This love covers a multitude of sins.
Proverbs 17:9
9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.
1 Peter 4:8
8 above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:
* This love will keep the lid on Pandora's Box and the lips of accusation closed.
Once the box is opened, there are monsters that can never be returned; once the words are spoken, they can never be unsaid. The bell cannot be unrung and the bullet cannot be put back into the barrel.
* Carnality destroys
I have watched carnality destroy individuals, families, friendships and churches. In order to love perfectly from a pure heart, a person must die to self by being established in holiness.
1 Thessalonians 3:12-13
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
