08/21/16 YES, YOU HAVE A PART IN YOUR SALVATION

08/21/16 YES, YOU HAVE A PART IN YOUR SALVATION

Basic To Accountability
If you cannot freely choose to do righteousness, and you cannot freely choose to not do evil (as Calvinism falsely teaches), then you are not responsible for your moral condition (as the Bible teaches).

We have all inherited a propensity to sin from Adam, and we have freely chosen to follow that propensity into actual disobedience to God.

We inherited a corrupted nature but we actuated our own guilt.

Sinful nature and sinful behavior separate us from God.

Only the atonement of Christ satisfies the righteous requirements of God's law and reconciles us to God.

The atonement is why the pre-born, the new born and infants (all of which have inherited sinful natures from Adam) are part of the kingdom of God.

Remember, the Bible says (1 Tm. 4:10) that God is the,

"…Savior of all men…"

Though everyone is made acceptable to God through Christ's sacrifice (in spite of the inherited sinful nature we received from Adam), it is not until a person chooses to sin that he incurs personal guilt and accountability.

However, when we sin willfully, when we deliberately do that which is evil in the sight of God, we incur personal guilt and responsibility.

The only way a sinner can be reconciled to God is by believing on Christ as Savior.

Remember, 1 Tm. 4:10 goes on to say that God is Savior of all men,

"…especially those who believe."

As the Bible says,

"... all have sinned..." (Ro. 3:23)

Our sins have, "...separated between (us) and God..." (Is. 59:2)

"... the wages of sin is death." (Ro. 6:23)

Therefore, we all need to be reconciled to God.

So, what must a person do in order to be saved?

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." (Ac. 16:31)

* God calls us,
* God convicts us,
* God convinces us,
* God enables us, and
* God requires us to believe.

Faith (along with confession and repentance), is a personal decision, which God requires for salvation.

We cannot do that which God does, and God will not do that which He requires us to do.

When we choose to believe, repent and confess, we are trusting in the saving grace of God.

When we do not choose to believe, repent and confess, we are presuming on the grace of God.
