WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Two of my favorite people in the entire world share a name that comes from the Greek word which means, "to watch, to keep awake." These two special friends and brothers in Christ are Wade Gregory and Pastor Gregory Moody. I love both of them and miss them greatly, since one lives in South Carolina and the other lives in upstate North Carolina. Brother Wade visits from time to time, which is a great encouragement to me and a blessing to me and my family.
But this weekend brother (Pastor) Greg and his sweet wife came to see us. WOW, WHAT A BLESSING. Brother Greg is rightly named. He is a pastor who calls on people to WAKE UP, to WATCH; he is a watchman on the wall, warning the people of coming dangers and the soon return of Christ.
My name is not Gregory, but I want to be a WATCHman on the wall, crying aloud, warning folks of the certain dangers that are coming upon us and also calling people to WAKE UP to the gracious offer of God's salvation.
I love to tell the Good News of God's love, mercy, grace and salvation. But there is the implied bad news for those who try to attain heaven by circumventing the plan of God.
John 10:1
(1) “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 Corinthians 11:13-14
(13) For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles.
(14) And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.
Don't follow the darkness into eternal suffering, turn, trust, follow the Light of God into eternal life.
