07/04/16 YOU CHOOSE THE STEP
The well known Chinese proverb, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step," is often invoked when a person is being encouraged to start a new venture.
However, the adage is applicable to the darker side of life as well. A small indiscretion, a minor infraction is the beginning of a schism that may never be healed. Remember the sin in The Garden? Though God made provision for healing, for redemption, for reconciliation, the vast chasm of separation will only widen throughout eternity for those who do not repent of their selfishness, abandon their pride, renounce their rebellion.
When Jesus was asked (in connection with the "rich young ruler"), who could be saved, Jesus said, "With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible."
Here is the problem: God is willing and able to do the impossible (restore the broken), but stubborn people reject the miraculous provision of God in order to hold onto their defeat and destruction.
Choose your step wisely, "caterpillar."
