* Christians can't get more saved, but they can be more Christlike. For instance, we should be getting sweeter, more compassionate, stronger, as we grow in Christ. I am writing a NOTE that addresses the idea that CHANGE PRODUCES CHANGES. Remember, God did not change us so that we would remain the same. GROWTH REQUIRES CHANGE.
* There is a song that says,
From glory to glory He's changing me, changing me, changing me.
His likeness and image to perfect in me.
The love of God shone to the world.
For He's changing, changing me,
From earthly things into heavenly.
His likeness and image to perfect in me,
The love of God shone to the world.
* Another song (in reference to God) says,
Since I started for the kingdom,
Since my heart He controls.
Since I gave my heart to Jesus,
The longer I serve Him,
The sweeter He grows.
The longer I serve Him the sweeter He grows.
The more that I love Him, more love He bestows.
Each day is like heaven,
My heart overflows.
The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows.
* Actually, God does not get sweeter, but it seems so, because we become more open to His grace.
* Another song (in reference to salvation) says,
It gets sweeter, as the days go by.
It gets sweeter, makes the moments fly.
His love is deeper, richer, fuller, sweeter,
Sweeter and sweeter and sweeter as the days go by.
* In fact, we get sweeter, more joyful, more loving, more sensitive, more humble, more meek and more of all that is good and Christian and Christlike, as the days go by, if we are drawing closer and closer and closer.
And, after all, isn't the likeness of Jesus exactly what we want others to see?
