08/04/16 HAVE FAITH, BELIEVE AND TRUST GOD
Faith is both believing God and trusting Him. God wants us to believe Him, AND, God wants us to trust Him. These two idea can be the same, but they can be different. Here is how.
BELIEVE GOD
God wants us to believe Him. God wants us to accept His word, which He has spoken to us as being true, honest, valid. God does not lie. God has made promises, God has forewarned. God wants us to believe Him when He says that Christ, "is the propitiation (satisfaction) for our sins: and not for our only, but for the (sins) of the whole world." We can believe this. God has clearly stated His position, His plan, His promise. He has said that He loves the world to such an extent that He "gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." We can believe Him. If God said it, it is true.
TRUST GOD
God wants us to trust Him, depend on Him. There are times when I face issues, questions, problems, which are not directly addressed by Scripture. There are issues that God has not spoken to directly. However, I can always trust God with any problem, any question because God is trustworthy. God is compassionate, wise. He is trustworthy.
Therefore, I can believe whatever God says and I can trust God in every situation, in other words, I can confidently place my faith in God.
