I can only think of one church in Morehead City, during the late 1970's and early 1980's, that preached the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (which results in holiness of heart and life), without attaching the false notion that speaking in unknown tongues is the evidence, or saddled with a rules and regulation legalism. In fact, there were very few churches in the entire county that preached the Biblical doctrine of full salvation during that time. Since that time there have been other church groups come into the area, which share the same doctrinal background.
ESSENTIAL
Still, the Biblical doctrine of "holiness of heart and life," which is made possible when a Christian receives the Gift of the Holy Spirit (not to be confused with "the gifts of the Holy Spirit") is not a popular doctrine. Yet without holiness and purity of heart, no man shall see the Lord.
Holiness of heart and life are just as essential as faith in Christ and just as essential as regeneration. Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. He that despises holiness does not despise man, but God. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
