When I am kayaking or fishing or kayak fishing or net casting I often think how cool it would be to have folks with me. I have such a good time. I cannot imagine others not enjoying it also. BUT ALAS, it really is, "different strokes for different folks." I realize that everyone has their own likes and dislikes, and I have no trouble accepting that. Still, these are such wholesome activities with restorative results, I just wish everyone would enjoy them.
HOWEVER, when it comes to a right relationship with God, it is not a matter of personal preference, but a matter of personal surrender, relationship and commitment. I realize that people have the ability to reject the only way of salvation, but it bewilders me as to why anyone would opt into death instead of life; into pollution instead of purity; into anger instead of love.
My hobbies, my activities are not essential for others. But everyone is obliged to receive Christ as Savior, if they want to escape a life of sin and an eternity in torment, separated from God.
I want others to join me as I paddle through the creeks and marshes, as I fish with hook and line or cast net, because I really enjoy those things and I want others to have the same pleasures.
In a greater way I want others to join me in trusting, loving, following Jesus into a life of love, joy, peace, purity and eternal relationship with God, because Christ is all we need, and also because there is no other name, under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.
This is why I preach, teach, counsel, witness and share the Holy Bible with other people. Come and join as we take the pathway of holiness.
