HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY... BUT MOSTLY...
I am so thankful for the beautiful grandchildren that my daughters and daughters-in-law have brought into our lives. Each one is special in his or her own way. I am thankful for the loving and sacrificial provision that each of these mothers have made for their children and especially thankful for the loving, humble, Christlike example that is lived before the grandchildren.
BUT MOSTLY I am thankful for Martha, the most wonderful mother any child could have. You deserve all of the best and nothing less. You are not only the best mom, but the best grandmother as well. Any child, and any grandchild would be blessed to have you in their life. I know how much you love, and I know how much you hurt when your children/grandchildren are hurting.
God is always good, even when life is not kind. I wish I could have taken your disappointments and pain through the years, and I appreciate that you always try to relieve me of my disappointments as well. I appreciate those who make you a happy mother everyday. I wish I could promise you clear skies and smooth sailing from this day forward, but I know that life in this veil of tears has more than its share of heartache. I cannot help what other winds may blow your way, but I hope I bring you joy and not grief in the days ahead. I love you.
For anyone who reads this, always do the Christlike thing concerning your mother. Never cause your mother any heartache. Remember, there is never an acceptable reason to be ugly to mom, and in fact, dishonoring mom will incur the displeasure and wrath of God, no matter how much others are fooled by a sugary display.
