LET'S GO FISHING

While I was at some restaurants this week I have had the opportunity to talk to folks, telling them about our new ministry in the area, inviting them to services, pointing them to THE NET HOUSE page and asking them about their own relationships with Jesus.

I go out to the fishing grounds expecting to fish, and maybe even catch fish (fishing for men, that is). I look for God's leading and try to say and do that which is pleasing to Him and effective with them.

It is encouraging to have folks actually ask for your name, the name and location of your church, your phone number. This happened a couple of times in the past couple of days.

As I said, I fish with the hope of catching. I saw a young family and entered conversation with them. I discovered that they are actively planning to move to the area. When they asked about my status I explained that I am a pastor, just moving back to the area, and starting a ministry. They were interested and took my number and name. Hopefully we will hear from them for questions, which could lead to worship or Bible study time. In a situation today I sat next to a couple of men during lunch. I kept looking for my opportunity to offer them something from the table of God.

Eventually we started talking about the menu, the area, the sad condition of our society, the advantages of our community (for raising children). I then asked them about their own relationship with Jesus and focused on the importance of men being men of God in these terrible times. Again, the response was positive. I did not talk about THE NET HOUSE at this time. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I hope that they remember and think about the importance of men leading children in trusting Christ.

GOOD FISHING Y'ALL
