DEAF AND BLIND BY CHOICE
We use to use the phrase, "deaf and dumb," in reference to people who are deaf and mute. It was not intended to be an insult, and it was not intended to be a comment on the person's lack of intelligence (though there were some people who did misuse the phrase).
In the spiritual realm there are people who are deaf, mute, blind, heartless and mindless. Just as it is difficult (nearly impossible) to communicate with a person who lacks the necessary components for communication in the natural realm (as with Helen Keller), so it is impossible to communicate with the spiritually deaf, blind, mute, heartless and mindless person.
However, God does that which is impossible. But here is the problem. Although God will bridge the gap of silence and darkness, to reach the person lost in sin, and He will enable them to respond to His loving and gracious overture, they often choose to be deaf, mute, blind, heartless and mindless. They choose to be lost and separated.
How sad for the God Who loves them.
How sad for those of us who love them.
How sad for themselves.
Do not take it lightly when Almighty God calls you to Himself.
Do not hesitate when He invites you to know and receive and follow Him.
The world is swirling downward at an ever increasing speed, with ever increasing power. Not only do we need the power of God to escape the vortex of sin, we need the power of God to remain free from sin's unrelenting pull.
Call on God to set you free from your the chains of spiritual darkness, silence, corruption, confusion. Trust Christ with an obedient trust, or you do not trust Him at all.
