WHAT'S IN A NAME?
I chose the name, "The Net House" because a net house is a good model for a local church, since it is a place for fisherman to meet and work on the tools of their trade.
A net house is usually an old, unattractive, utilitarian building. The purpose of the net house is more important than its appearance.

A net house, in the historical sense, is a place where fishing gear is stowed, fashioned, prepared, repaired, and a place where fishermen gather to work, plan, talk and help one another. A net house is a place of work as well as community, but it is not the fishing grounds themselves.
I have chosen to call our ministry The NET HOUSE because our gathering together should be the gathering of fishermen (fishers of men), young and old, who fashion, prepare, repair, instruct and encourage one another in doing the work that Jesus directed us to do, when He said for us to be fishers of men.
I hope this helps folks understand the dignity and spiritual meaning attached to the name, THE NET HOUSE. In fact, all church ministries could use the net house as a model for ministry.
