Sadly, NORMAL is not the same as AVERAGE or USUAL or PAR.

Of course, being NORMAL is being Christian, being like Christ, because Christ is our standard in creation and salvation.
However, being Christian is not AVERAGE or USUAL or PAR.
Even nominal Christianity (Christian in name only) comes short, claiming around 15% of the world population. The estimate for actual regenerated believers is somewhere between 4% and 10% (probably no more than 4%).
My friend, David Marcum wrote a beautiful tribute to his mom and dad. I was moved by it. Sadly there are few who share the same respect and love and honor for their parents. Still, his tribute is NORMAL but it is not average or usual or par.
As parents, we should endeavor to live in the way that pleases God, and warrants our children's respect.
As children (of any age), we should honor our parents.
