SEVEN MYSTERIES OF THE BIBLE (or SEVEN SECRETS OF GOD)

Bible Class Lesson today introduced the Seven Secrets (Mysteries) of the Bible. A Biblical mystery is not a "who done it" that can be solved by human wisdom, but it is a secret, hidden with God, and only understood when God reveals it to a person. Basically, every message that brings renewal to a person will be related to these seven secrets of God.

Part of my job, as a pastor, is to explain the "mysteries" of God to people, so that they may live in a way that is pleasing to God.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
(1) Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
(2) Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Success for a pastor is not measured by human standards of success, but rather by his faithfulness to proclaim the truth of God to others.

Briefly, here are the Seven Secrets (Mysteries) of God in the Bible.

1) The Mystery of Godliness
This is the secret that God would become a man in order to save men from their sins.

1 Timothy 3:14-16
(14) These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
(15) But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
(16) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

2) The Mystery of "Christ in You"
God is not only with His people, and He is not only within some of His people, He indwells all those who are born again.

Colossians 1:25-29
(25) Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
(26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
(27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
(29) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

3) The Mystery of the Church
God does not have a political or institutional entity today. Instead, He indwells believers and joins the believers together as one His Body, His Bride, His Building. His Church.

Ephesians 5:30-32
(30) For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
(31) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
(32) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

4) The Mystery of the Restoration of Israel
God chose Israel to be a vital part of His redemptive plan, and He has set Israel aside during the Church dispensation, but God will restore Israel to an exalted position during the end times.

Romans 11:25-27
(25) For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
(26) And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
(27) For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

5) The Mystery of Babylon the Great
There will be a one world government, one world religion and one world economy when the end time world ruler seems to take control of the world.

Revelation 17:5-6
(5) And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
(6) And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Revelation 17:17-18
(17) For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
(18) And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

6) The Mystery of Iniquity
The evil, one world ruler himself (the Anti-Christ, the Beast) is a mystery.

2 Thessalonians 2:2-8
(2) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
(3) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
(4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
(5) Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
(6) And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
(7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
(8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

7) The Mystery of The Rapture
Not everyone will die. There will be a generation of believers that are caught up to heaven without dying.

1 Corinthians 15:51-55
(51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
