One way to gauge our obedience level to God is to consider other people's evaluation concerning our submission level to human authority.
Do others see me as an offspring (any age) who honors and obeys parents?
Do others see me as church person who respects and follows pastoral leadership, counsel, authority?
Do others see me as a wife who honors, obeys and respects my husband?
Do others see me as a husband who loves and sacrifices for his wife?
Do others see me as a believer who submits to legitimate authority?
If others do not see loving submission in our lives, to legitimate authority, then we probably are not actually submissive to God, therefore we are not Christian.
