11/19/16 BEWARE WHAT YOU PURSUE
Romans 14:19
(19) Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
It is not hard to hurt someone or to destroy a relationship. Good relationships demand attention, energy, self sacrifice, humility, love. WE MUST DO THE THINGS that result in peace with other people and the things which build others up, rather than the things that tear apart.
DON'T LEAVE IT TO CHANCE AND DON'T LEAVE IT TO OTHER PEOPLE TO PURSUE PEACE AND EDIFICATION.
We cannot help what others do, but we are responsible for what we do.
Remember (please read entire passage below), God says,
Hebrews 12:14-17
(14) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
(15) Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
(16) Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
(17) For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
