10/30/16 GOD'S PLAN TO TRAIN CHILDREN

10/30/16 GOD'S PLAN TO TRAIN CHILDREN

HOLY HAND ME DOWNS
God has clearly stated that children should be taught, raised, trained in the ways of God. His ways are found in the Old and New Testaments.
Deuteronomy 4:9
(9) Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

2 Timothy 3:14-16
(14) But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
(15) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
(16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

CONTINUED EDUCATION AND EDIFICATION
It begins with His word, it continues to His children, it continues through His children to their children and to their children's children. Fathers and mothers must be subject to the will of God and then they must teach God's truth to their children and then, along with their grown children, they are to teach it to their grandchildren.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7
(5) And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
(6) And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
(7) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Proverbs 22:6
(6) Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

THE POWER OF CHILDHOOD TRAINING
Psalms 119:9
(9) Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Psalms 119:11
(11) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Proverbs 1:8-10
(8) My son, give ear to the training of your father, and do not give up the teaching of your mother:
(9) For they will be a crown of grace for your head, and chain-ornaments about your neck.
(10) My son, if sinners would take you out of the right way, do not go with them.

Proverbs 6:20-22
(20) My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
(21) Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.
(22) When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
