11/03/16 SAVIOR AND LORD

11/03/16 SAVIOR AND LORD

I often refer to the importance of submitting to the Lordship of Christ. There are those who reject the necessity of this concept. They see the idea of the Lordship of Christ as separate from salvation. HOWEVER, there is no salvation without accepting the Lordship of Christ.

In the following passage, Paul was saying that we should confess JESUS AS LORD. Confessing His Lordship and believing His salvation are the two sides to the same coin. You cannot have one without the other.

Romans 10:9-10
(9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Other verses...

Acts 2:36
(36) Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Philippians 2:11
(11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

A person cannot believe Christ, trust Christ, unless He accepts and honors Christ as Lord (Master, God). To be saved is to live under the Lordship of Christ. Salvation is a change of masters, not just a change of destination or a clerical change, which God makes in the heavenly record, separate from a Divine and miraculous change, which transforms a sinner into a saint.
