NO PRANK CALLS

NO PRANK CALLS
Of course we realize that there are people (unsupervised children) who make prank calls. But in fact, there are untold numbers of immature and troubled adults who make prank calls. These people are not emotionally stable, they are not kind, they are not acting responsibly. Unsuspecting people are not only interrupted by these disturbed pranksters who choose to not do anything better with ther time than bother unsuspecting victims; they mislead, threaten and falsely promise things. These "pranksters" are using social media for very anti-social activity.

GOD DOES NOT MAKE PRANK CALLS
God does not want anyone to perish, and He therefore calls people to Himself and His salvation, even when He knows they WILL CHOOSE to reject His invitation. But that is their free choice, not God's imposed will. Many are called but few are chosen (Mt. 20:16) is a comment on human will rather than Divine election to damnation. When God calls, it is no joke. When God calls, it is no prank.

God calls us to repentance and to total surrender. Those who freely choose to come to Him by faith, He will in no wise cast out. God sends His children to man the rescue stations and to sound the alarm, and to entreat people to trust an follow Christ. This is what I am doing when I call people to holiness of heart and life, because God says, "without holiness, no man shall see the Lord" (He. 12:14).

YOU ARE EITHER A "LIFE SAVER" OR IN NEED OF SAVING
As I was look at my posts on FB, I realize there are people who are bothered when they see so much emphasis given to the Christian's responsibility to pursue holiness of heart and life.

Then I think, Wow, what must it be like to go to a church, or follow teachers who tell you, "not to pursue holiness of heart and life." How sad for them, since holiness of heart is the reason Jesus was born, lived, taught, sought, died, arose, ascended to heaven, sent the Holy Spirit and intercedes at the right hand of the Father. Love from a pure heart was God's desire for us from the beginning.

As believers, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Co. 5:18-19). When I call you to repentance and to holiness of heart and life, I am doing it under orders from God, in God's stead (2 Co. 5:20). When God warns, it is not a prank, when God promises, it is not a prank. When I call people to repent or make total commitment, it is not a prank call, because God's call is not a prank call.
