2/23/16 GETTING GOD'S LEADING

GETTING GOD'S LEADING
Although it is a different context, James said, "you have not because you ask not." Though it was a different context, the principle is applicable to other areas of the Christian life.

For instance, Christians do not always have clear leading and solid understanding concerning the way they should lead their lives.

THEY HAVE NOT BECAUSE THEY ASK NOT. And there is a reason they don't ask. THEY DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

Some might say, "but I don't know how to discern the will of God," or "I I don't know enough about the Bible to make wiser decisions."

COP OUT. God has given you a pastor that knows the word of God, understands the principles of godly living, prays for you constantly, desires your spiritual success. All you have to do is ask him. He is God's appointed shepherd to minister to you. Still...

YOU HAVE NOT BECAUSE YOU ASK NOT.

Don't make your pastor approach you with the message of God. Seek out God's will and your pastor's counsel on your own. It is bad when he has to come to you. It indicates that you have gone far too long and you are about to make a major mistake.

Hebrews 13:17
(17) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
