COMMANDOS FOR GOD
Hogan's Heroes, The Magnificent Seven, Kelly's Heroes, The Dirty Dozen, The Guns of Navarone and Mission Impossible are stories that join people with various skills, to accomplish special missions.I have had the privilege to pastor (occasionally) very effective churches of varying sizes. While churches are like military installations, church planting teams are more like a commando unit. These teams should be comprised of people with a variety gifts and abilities. These teams also need to be self motivated and loyal to the mission and their leader.
As a church planter, I know the importance of a committed and cohesive unit. Anything less is doomed for failure. As a pastor, there are many times that I would have loved to have had co-workers that I could call and count on.
As I launch into a new adventure, pray for me to understand God's leading, experience God's power, and execute God's will. Also pray for a team that is of one mind.
