FIVE DIVINE DESIGNS
The truism is, "God does all things well."
Here are five of God's plans that declare the glory of His wisdom and power and love and redemption. I find myself contemplating these great truths on a regular basis.
#1 God's design of the universe, from micro units to macro systems. He arranged the heavens as His message board, and as a dynamic, interactive, and supportive environment for the earth's sustenance and chose the earth to perform His greatest work.
#2 God's plan for the human will, both before and after the fall of Adam; the freedom to choose right or wrong; the ability to resist the will of God without threatening the sovereignty of God; the opportunity and obligation to prepare for eternity.
#3 God's design and plan for human relationships in the family, from husband and wife to tribal; from natural to spiritual; both as individuals and as corporate bodies, sharing in the goals and the glory of God.
#4 God's word; its plan, provision, power and protection; its Divine origin and infallibility revealed through fallible human instrumentality; its cohesiveness despite its diverse history; its depth and simplicity; is eternality and its contemporality; its mystery and its clarity; its history and its prophecy; its unity of purpose and its multifaceted application.
#5 God's plan of salvation; its two sides (Divine and human); its justice and its mercy; its shadows and its substance; its narrowness and its universality; its condemnation and its comfort; its power its pervasiveness.
These five Divine designs are transcendent and immanent; humbling and exalting; inscrutable and inspiring; enigmatic and enlightening.
