Q.
Reckon why (translation... why do you think) the Bible does not tell us that Jesus saves His people IN THEIR SINS?
A.
Because He doesn't. HE SAVES HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS (which is totally different).
Q.
Reckon why the angel told Joseph, "... thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21), instead of saying that Jesus would only save His people from the penalty of their sins?
A.
Because Jesus saves His people from the penalty of their sins AND He saves them from their sins.
OR WE COULD SAY.
Because Jesus saves His people from their sins AND He saves them from the penalty of their sins.
If we are not saved from our sins, we are not saved from the penalty of our sins.
We know we are saved from the penalty of our sins when we know we are saved from our sins.
ALSO
Remember,
"The next day John saw Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world." "John 1:29"
Jesus not only saves His people from their SINS (evil things we say, think and do),
Jesus takes away our SIN (evil predisposition, our carnal mind).
Jesus regenerates sinners, so that they overcome sin (1 Jn. 3:9; 5:4; 5:18).
Jesus purifies entirely sanctifies believers (1 Th. 5:23-24), so that our hearts are purified (Ac.15:9; 1 Jn. 3:3)
SALVATION is salvation from our sins and our sin.
Jesus saves us from the penalty of sin, from the power of sin, from the pollution of sin.
If your salvation does not save you from your sins and if your salvation does not take away your sin, you do not have the salvation of Jesus Christ.
1 John 3:1-10
(1) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
(2) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
(3) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
(4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
(5) And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
(6) Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
(7) Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
(8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
(9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
(10) In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
