10/02/16 WHAT IS YOUR SIGN?
The ancient false religion of Astrology (not to be confused with Astronomy, which is the study of the created universe) is the "(mis)guiding light" for many unsuspecting people today. Some folks are serious about their signs and horoscopes, while other people approach it as an innocent amusement. However, the dark spirit who originated this evil religion uses curiosity and amusement to slowly get greater control of a person, as they look to the heavens for guidance, rather than looking to the Creator of the heavens for deliverance and guidance and power.
* Christians are under the sign of the Crucified and Risen Lamb of God (and should not mix Christ and His message of light with Satan's message of darkness, as found in Astrology).
* Our lives are in line with the Bright and Morning Star (Jesus).
* Our daily guidance comes from the eternal word of God, rather than the horoscope in the daily newspaper.
* We look to the God Who created and rules over astronomy, rather than the demons and charlatans of astrology.
Remember, astrology is traced back to the earliest Babylonian rejectors of God, who devised the false religion of Astrology. In fact, the ziggurat, which we know as, The Tower of Babel, was a temple dedicated to one of the first (if not THE FIRST) organized false religions in the world. After the flood, men sought to save themselves from the God of heaven by seeking the gods of the heavens (moon, sun, stars) and they turned the glory of the Creator God into the image of creatures, to be worshiped, sought and followed.
Here is what Paul said about it...
Romans 1:21-32
(21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
(24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
(25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
(26) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
(27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
(28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
(30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
(31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
(32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
God's response was to those early seekers of demonic guidance.
Genesis 11:1-9
(1) And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
(2) And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
(3) And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
(4) And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
(5) And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
(6) And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
(7) Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
(8) So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
(9) Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
