THE "ONE AND DONE" THAT HONORS THE SON
If you want to live, you need to breathe more than one time.
If you want to live, you need to eat more than one time.
If you want to live, you need to drink more than one time.
If you want to advance, you need to take more than one step.
These things are true in the spiritual realm as well.
The Holy Spirit is our living breath, and we must be constantly receiving Him.
Jesus is our sustenance, and we must be constantly receiving Him.
Jesus is our path, and we must be constantly following Him.
(This is called, "living in the Spirit.")

(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Although Once Save, Always Saved is false, salvation is a "one and done" reality...
When Jesus is the only One we love, trust and obey.
When we are done (finished) with sin.
It does not take the fullness of the Holy Spirit to quit sinning. It takes being BORN OF THE SPIRIT and LIVING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT to stop sinning.

If we fail to live in the Spirit, God is gracious and He will renew and restore the repentant.
God provides salvation, but He does not do our believing and receiving for us.
God enables us to believe and receive, but He does not bypass or override the responsibilities He has given to us.
Salvation is the plan of God and we must abide by that plan or we will not be saved.
God is not a respecter of persons (choosing some to salvation and some to damnation). The offer of salvation is the same for every man, which is to believe, to repent, to confess, and to follow.

There is not any miracle in
a "salvation" that allows you to freely sin, or
a "salvation" that will not save you from sinning, or
a "salvation" that cannot empower you to not sin.
In other words...
Sinning religion is the "salvation" of man's best effort.
Sinning religion is man's attempt to save himself.
Sinning religion is the work of the devil and the work of the flesh.
More precisely, sinning religion is not salvation.
It is time to believe on Jesus and let God miraculously save you from sin.

INSIDE OUT, MAN IS A MESS
Today I watched the movie, "Inside Out," with the Gould children. The movie is a reminder of how psychology (the valid part of the study of the human psyche) and salvation connect.
Psychology is able (in a limited and errant way) to recognize and categorize some of the inner troubles of human beings and their interaction with one another. However, even when psychology correctly states certain observations about the human condition, it offers totally flawed answers to the problems of life.
There is real potential in having an "Inside Out Youth Focus Weekend." Sadly, the movie addresses the problem of inner youth conflicts, in a better way than most churches deal with it, whether with youth or adults.
One of the problems of today is that society trusts the words of HUMANISTIC Psychology, and Secularist programs and they have totally discarded the Holy Bible and the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit in solving the conflicts that accost all of us.
It is necessary to understand several things if a program like this is held.
* Biblical Anthropology (the origin, nature, condition and potential of human beings).
* Basic principles of Psychology (the study of the human mind, emotions, desires, and human behavior).
* The basic errors of Humanistic Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology.
* The Biblical solution to human flaws and failures and relational fissures.
* The Christian view of sin, God and salvation.
I find that movies, like I/O, are in touch with the mind, values and emotions of society, of all ages. It is not that people don't care about the answers and principles of the Holy Bible, as much as the fact that they are not given the message of the Holy Bible, and therefore don't know God's view and God solution to the human condition. This leaves them looking for deliverance in errant psychology and sociology
Christian must not be ashamed of God, His word, His Son, His salvation or His Holy Spirit, since this is where we find the answer to man's problems.

Free thinking people do not try to establish a Theocracy because they realize that only God can do that.
Free thinking people do not set themselves up as the final authority because they realize they are not God.
Free thinking people want a free society, which recognizes the moral standards of a loving and just Creator.
Free thinking people realize that freedom comes from God.
Free thinking people recognize Jesus Christ as the living truth, and recognize the Holy Bible as the Creator's revelation of truth.
Those who believe in Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible are free thinking people because Jesus, and His word, is the truth, and the truth sets people free.

People who do not believe in Christ and His word, favor oppressive and godless governments because they do not know the truth.

Sadly, the very qualities that made America great are now politically unacceptable and are rejected in favor of the pleasures of the flesh.

My mama use to make a really good lemon meringue pie, and she used Vanilla Wafers. I remember when we moved back to Morehead and I got some lemon meringue pie from the restaurant, but it had Ritz Crackers instead. Though I did not like it as much, it was still my favorite pie.
I thought about this today, because I ate a few Ritz Crackers and all of a sudden that old fashioned lemon meringue pie came to mind.
I hope that when people think of me, even if I am not one of their favorite people, they will remember the beauty of Jesus, with which my life was associated.
Remember, we may be the best taste of Christianity some folks will ever have. Don't mess it up for them.

When I read or hear the hateful comments of Jew haters or the haters of Israel, it makes me cringe to think that those who claim to be Christians do the same thing with the people who are held captive by Satan in the chains of Islam.
Haters of Jews and Israel are haters of the people, not simply a religion or a political or a social position. Be careful not to hate those who are blinded and held captive by Islam.
Without Christ we are all savages, monsters, evil beasts. However, when a person hates Muslim people, and denigrates Muslim people, and when a person speaks violence against Muslim people, simply because they are either Muslim, or non-white, or non- western, or non-Christian, then that person reveals their own spiritual bankruptcy.
It is interesting to note that antisemitism includes those of a Semitic heritage and not just Jews. To hate Muslim people puts a hater in the same boat as those who hate Jews.
All men without Christ are lost.
Skin in not the problem.
Sin is the problem.
Race is not the answer.
Grace is the answer.
They need to be aligned with Christ, not maligned by Christians.
We should reject false religion but love the lost.
